Friends of Parkville Parks (F.O.P.P.) is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. The purpose of this organization is to identify needs to improve the public lands and parks in Parkville, Missouri, act as a fundraising vehicle to address specific improvements within those parks and lands, and to improve citizen awareness and involvement through volunteer opportunities. Parktoberfest was our only fund-raising event for the past three years, but we plan to expand the activities of FOPP in the coming years to bring in even more support for the Park. We’ll be fund-raising all year, so to see the latest don’t hesitate to go to www.friendsofparkvilleparks.org, or to www.parktoberfest.net . We will also be looking for volunteers for future years. You can always reach us through contact.parktoberfest@gmail.com .
This year, with the blessings of the City of Parkville and the Parkville Chamber of Commerce, F.O.P.P. collected monies specifically designated for the Flood Relief Fund which will be used in efforts to restore English Landing Park. Our donors’ generosity has been incredible. Our goal was to raise $35,000 gross proceeds, and while the final tallies are not yet in, it looks as though we surpassed that goal. We don’t expect the Park to be completely cleaned up and open until spring, but we’ll be ready, willing and able to help when they need us. For those of you inquiring about helping the Park as individuals please contact Kirk Rome with the City of Parkville. Corporate clean-ups sponsors are being directed to Kirk Rome with the City as well.
As always, our goal is to include everyone in our community and keep it local. We want our events to be fun, entertaining and relaxing while spending time in our community’s most visited park, English Landing. Your support is needed and deeply appreciated.
Best Regards,
Cory Miller
